Welcome to Mt Hope Veterinary Hospital. We are a small animal
(dogs and cats) veterinary practice providing complete pet
health care services for your companions.

Our veterinarians and assistants are ready
to provide the complete health care needs for your companions.
With over 60 years of combined practice experience in small
animal veterinary medicine our team of veterinarians can
provide you the care your four legged family member deserves.
The majority of our practice is devoted to dogs and cats.
We are able to treat ferrets, rodents, rabbits and some
other exotic species.
Dr. Berry graduated from Michigan State University's
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. She has worked in
clinical practice since graduation. Her service in state
and local veterinary organizations includes: past president
of the Mid-State Veterinary Medical Association, former
chairman of the Animal Welfare Committee of the Michigan
Veterinary Medical Association. She has served on the Board
of Directors of the Capital Area Humane Society. She enjoys
horseback riding, reading, fishing and her profession.
Dr. Sage graduated from Michigan State University's
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He has worked in
clinical practice in the Lansing area since graduation.
He is currently a member of the Mid-State Veterinary Medical
Association, the MVMA,and the AVMA. He also has a bachelors
degree in biological science from MSU's college of Natural
Science. He is experienced in many kinds of surgery including
orthopedic repairs and has a special interest in canine
and feline ophthalmology and dentistry. He is a member of
the American
Association of Feline Practitioner's.
He is a Vietnam era veteran. He is involved
in our local Audubon Society and is an accomplished amateur
nature and wildlife photographer. Some of his work may be

Dr. Zarka graduated from Michigan State University's
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Prior to her start
in MSU's CVM she was a graduate of MSU's College of Fisheries
and Wildlife. She has been active in small animal clinical
practice for over 20 years and has practiced in the Lansing
area for over 16 years. She is interested in preventive
medicine, surgery and dentistry. Dr Zarka is has a special
interest in behavior consultation and likes to make visits
for her patients less stressful.
She lives in the Lansing area and enjoys spending time with
family and friends and at home with her own three dogs and
six cats and Matthew, her significant other. She enjoys
reading, gardening and trying new recipes.
We welcomed our new licensed veterinary technician,
Alice, to our practice this year. She brings with her a
tremendous wealth of experience, skills, and organizational
talents to our practice.
Dr. Horton will be pursuing her interests
in acupuncture for a portion or August and is planning her
relocation to Kalamazoo after that. We will miss her and
appreciate all her dedication to our mission. I know she
had a great working relationship with so many of our wonderful
clients and pets in the past five years.
Services:
Meeting your needs
From simple medical problems to complex medical cases. Our
in house laboratory is equipped with state of the art chemistry
and hematology analyzers and we routinely do work though
the DCPAH at Michigan State University and Idexx Reference
laboratories to perform nearly any test available in regular
clinical practice.
Our surgery and dentistry are performed with
a number of safe, balanced protocols of modern anesthetics
and analgesics including Isoflurane gas anesthesia. Monitoring
is regularly performed using an ECG monitoring, pulse oximetry,
blood pressure and other measures..
